The support shouldnt be on the forum anyways thats why the kit is labeled a DIY kit (Do it yourself). Definitely not for the members that dont have the expierence in modding to do.

it did not work because i cut the two traces to the pnc. i was trying to make a multi port install. i do not claim to know everything i go by trial and error and u have to squeeze a few lemons to make lemonade. I later bought a 3 pin 3.5 mm jack from radio shack with my second legacy diy chip and it worked fine. Besides i go beyond the normal and add my own touches to all my mods. I like to add mimic buttons to my mods and i do have the knowledge and know how to install diy kits. Its not the lack of info on the forum its my own abilities i test to create something unique that no one else has. i've been installing and programming chips with open source codes before i started buying diy kits from viking. I would never spend more than the cost of a 12f683 chip until i felt the need to have more than just your basic rapid fire kit. Viking is the only company that i will ever by a chip from and that's only because they have the best mods and odin is a great business man that treats his customers with respect. So if u feel the need to question my abilities than that's fine because when u make statements u have to expect criticitizim and if any of u claim to have never made a mistake well your a lire.

Ya i like the community forums its great to talk to other diy modders and i like hearing others inputs on the forums. Ill just be more careful in my words before i post my inputs on subjects. Like i said previously i go by trial and error and i learn from my own mistakes and those mistakes make me backtrack my steps and find out where i went wrong. I wasn't targeting anybody in particular i was just defending my statement and providing an explanation on why and were i went wrong in my own personal install. I just wanted to make it clear to anyone who reads these forums and let the community know that i am capable in providing good input and i was truly only trying to help out a fellow diy. I enjoy any input and it helps me become better in my hobby and if it wasn't for Matt's statement i would have never of back tracked my work and found out were i went wrong in my install and i can think him for that cause it keeps me on my toes. I can say i respect him allot cause i know that he has contributed a great deal in new development in modding technologies, and i have seen his name all over community forums in the development in open source codes to provide the community to enjoy their hard work on these codes and to use them with the right intentions 'not for profit' but for the recognition of the programmer(s) and all the people who provided input on development of open source codes. Also i cant wait for the new chips to come out and like i said viking is the only company i will buy chips from cause they have the best people and support out there and i'm not going anywhere and I plan on sharing info in future post to gain information and provide any support to people who need it.

I agree they are an amazing company thats the only reason I have contributed soooo much that and because I fell in love with my Macro controller. Matt is surely a skilled person and I am glad we can see his presence here on the forums. I think its awesome that you are doing trial and error things however its even better if you come back on here and help the community out. Once those new chips come out I think Im going to snag one up too. I hope Odin keeps up the good work when the next gen consoles arrive. I know you werent taking shots at anyone though, like I said keep on experimenting!

ticktock, all your questions have been answered many times before. I apologize that the info you seek does not just jump out at you, this is mainly because people post in the incorrect areas and the forum moderators dont have the power to move posts where they should be. (this should be in the DYI area) Also by viking selling the DYI chip, it is assumed that the installer is knowledgeable enough to figure out the small details like which tacts to use and which programing jacks/methods should be used to best suit the modders needs. Viking encourages the customer to purchase complete modded controllers from the trained staff, which is why there is not alot of support for the DYI chip (we never intended on there to be)
that being said, to answer your questions' any 3.5mm jack can be used, it will come with wiring instructions for the product you buy. (they will all be similar, but different MFG's pins are in different configurations) as for the tact switches, I like to use 7mm switches. 6 mm sit flush with the shell and are very difficult to press. The link you posted in my opinion are too small.
